Commemorates the death of Roger Joslin of Bonita Springs, Florida, who passed away on June 15, 2014

Joslin was born in Bloomington on June 21, 1936, and graduated from Bloomington High School in 1954, Miami University (summa cum laude), and University of Illinois Law School (magna cum laude)

Spent 38 years as an executive at State Farm Insurance, rising to chief financial officer and vice-chairman of the board, and served as director for Archer Daniels Midland and Amlin insurance company

Held leadership positions including board member of Bloomington Board of Education for 11 years (2 terms as president), chairman of Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, trustee of Illinois Wesleyan University, and 2-time delegate to Republican National Conventions in 1972 and 1976

Survived by his wife Stephany, daughter Jill, sons Scott and Jim, and 5 grandchildren; the Senate expresses condolences to his family and friends
