Marilyn Jean Shineflug passed away on November 17, 2014, and was born April 24, 1943, in Evanston to Thane and Rebecca Swartz.

Served as Trustee for the Village of Antioch from 1989 to 1993, then became Mayor and served until 2001.

Was an active environmentalist who worked tirelessly for the well-being of her community.

Survived by two daughters (Karen Moore and Joanne Harrison), four grandchildren (Nicholas, David, Marinda, and Wesley), brother Douglas Swartz, sister-in-law Mary Ann Rodgers, and former husband Robert Shineflug.

Illinois Senate extends sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew her, with a suitable copy of the resolution to be presented to her family.
