John H. Miller of McHenry passed away on November 10, 2014, and the Illinois Senate expresses its condolences to his family.

Miller was born May 30, 1927, served in the United States Navy during World War II, and owned the Miller Monument Company, the oldest business in McHenry established in 1868.

Miller was an active community member, serving in the American Legion Auxiliary Post 491, McHenry Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4600, the Johnsburg Community Club, McHenry Chamber of Commerce, and Catholic Order of Foresters Court 594.

Miller is survived by 4 children, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and Betty Miller, and was preceded in death by his parents and sister Maureen Doherty.

A suitable copy of this resolution will be presented to the Miller family as an expression of the Senate's sympathy.
