IL HB0109

Allows any person to take possession of sick, injured, orphaned, or crippled wildlife without a permit to immediately transport it to a permitted wildlife rehabilitator.

Person taking possession of injured wildlife assumes all liability for any injury or property damage incurred from the animal.

Exempts this emergency transport activity from prohibitions on taking and retaining live wildlife species protected by the Wildlife Code.

Modifies Sections 2.4, 2.33, and 3.22 of the Wildlife Code to clarify exceptions to restrictions on birds of prey and live wildlife possession.

Effective immediately upon becoming law.
