IL HB0131

Adds a new subsection (c-5) to the School Code prohibiting the State Board of Education from assessing any student whose parent or guardian has requested that the student not be assessed.

Requires the State Board of Education to develop a form allowing parents or guardians to request that their student not be assessed, which must be distributed by school districts to students.

Allows students whose parents have requested non-assessment to receive a regular high school diploma without taking the college and career ready determination assessment.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
