IL HB0164

Amends the Hospital Licensing Act and University of Illinois Hospital Act to require hospitals offering electronic personal health records to conspicuously post information about their availability in patient-accessible areas.

Requires all hospitals that have made electronic personal health records available to provide written information about their availability to every patient prior to discharge.

Adds electronic personal health records information to the list of required hospital postings, which already include current license, complaint procedures, Department orders, and public inspection materials.

Applies requirements to both private hospitals and the University of Illinois Hospital.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
