Department of Financial and Professional Regulation shall accept and publish proof of general liability bond insurance from general contractors, painters, drywallers, HVAC technicians, and electricians on a publicly-accessible website.

Department may adopt rules and prepare a standard form for contractors to submit proof of general liability bond insurance.

Local governments cannot require additional proof of bond insurance or assess fees related to bond insurance from contractors who have submitted proof to the Department and whose information appears on the Department's website.

Local governments retain authority to require contractors to apply for and receive local licenses to do business in their jurisdiction.

Effective January 1, 2016.
