HB0225 Summary

• Requires the Department of Revenue to offer a special historic preservation instant scratch-off lottery game beginning January 1, 2016, or as soon thereafter as practical.

• Net revenue from the historic preservation scratch-off game shall be deposited into the Illinois Historic Sites Fund for use by the Historic Preservation Agency to maintain and preserve State historic sites listed in Section 6 of the Historic Preservation Agency Act.

• Defines "net revenue" as total ticket sales minus prizes paid out and actual Department administrative expenses solely related to the scratch-off game.

• Prohibits the Department from unreasonably diminishing marketing efforts for other instant scratch-off lottery games while the historic preservation game is being sold.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
