IL HB1334

Adds new provisions to the Illinois Pension Code requiring public employees who first entered service after January 1, 2017 to immediately notify their pension fund if they become members of another pension system or fund while employed full-time.

Suspends pension or annuity payments for affected employees while they are employed full-time in another pension system, with suspension ending upon termination of that full-time employment.

Applies the new dual-pension restrictions to police officers (Section 3-124.1), firefighters (Sections 4-117 and 6-156), and municipal employees (Section 5-159).

Preserves existing re-entry provisions for employees who entered service before January 1, 2017, including rules for pension recalculation after specified service periods.

Takes effect upon becoming law.
