IL HB1336

Establishes immunity from criminal charges for underage drinking violations when a person requests emergency medical assistance for someone experiencing alcohol-related medical distress, provided they remain at the scene and cooperate with emergency personnel.

Limits immunity protection to no more than 3 persons acting in concert for any single occurrence of requesting emergency medical assistance.

Allows students ages 18-20 enrolled in accredited culinary arts, food service, or restaurant management programs to taste (but not consume) alcoholic beverages up to 6 times per class under direct instructor supervision for instructional purposes only.

Prohibits law enforcement officers from charging or taking into custody individuals solely for underage alcohol possession or consumption violations when those individuals requested emergency medical assistance and met specified conditions including providing identification and cooperating with responders.

Protects law enforcement officers from civil liability for compliance or non-compliance with immunity provisions, except in cases of willful or wanton misconduct.
