IL HB1358

Amends the Illinois Insurance Code to require group and individual accident and health insurance policies to cover medically necessary preventative physical therapy for insureds diagnosed with multiple sclerosis without any treatment limitation or calendar year maximum.

Defines "preventative physical therapy" as therapy prescribed by a licensed physician to treat body parts affected by multiple sclerosis, with reasonably defined goals including sustaining achieved function levels and periodic evaluation of efficacy.

Limits coverage to be subject only to the same deductible and coinsurance requirements as other physical or rehabilitative therapy benefits, removing requirements for waiting periods, cost sharing limitations, treatment limitations, calendar year maximums, or other limitations.

Applies to policies amended, delivered, issued, or renewed after the effective date of this Act for the 99th General Assembly.
