IL HB1395

Consolidates the Villages of Ford Heights and Lynwood into a single municipality called the Village of Lynwood-Ford Heights beginning June 1, 2017 through May 31, 2025.

Terms of all officers from both villages end on May 31, 2017, with a new consolidated government structure taking effect June 1, 2017.

Establishes an 8-trustee board elected at-large for the consolidated village during the 2017 and 2021 consolidated election cycles.

Requires electors of the consolidated Village of Lynwood-Ford Heights to vote on a referendum in the 2024 general election on whether to continue the consolidation.

If voters reject continuation in 2024, the two villages revert to separate municipalities on June 1, 2025, with each electing 6 trustees and their respective officers as they existed before consolidation.
