• Transfers authority for issuing elevator contractor, mechanic, inspector, and inspection company licenses from the Elevator Safety Review Board to the Office of the State Fire Marshal (Administrator).

• Removes the Board's power to establish fee schedules for conveyance inspections; the Board retains authority to set fees only for licenses, registrations, permits, and certificates.

• Requires the Board to prescribe a standardized inspection form that must be the only form used by licensed inspectors and inspection companies conducting conveyance inspections.

• Mandates that all contractor and inspection company license applications include certificates of authority, good standing certificates, or assumed name certificates from the Secretary of State or county as applicable.

• Requires property owners, lessees, or responsible parties to report any injuries caused by conveyance malfunctions to the Administrator within 2 business days, either in writing or electronically.
