IL HB1488

Amends the Juvenile Court Act of 1987 by modifying Section 5-715 regarding probation periods for minors.

Removes the requirement that probation for minors convicted of forcible felonies (other than first degree murder or Class X felonies) must be at least 5 years.

Retains the 5-year minimum probation requirement only for minors found guilty of first degree murder or Class X felonies.

Allows courts to terminate probation or conditional discharge earlier based on the minor's conduct and the ends of justice, except for the specified most serious offenses.
