IL HB2399

Amends the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law to require the Department to take all necessary steps to ensure Roseland Community Hospital (45 West 111th Street, Chicago) has facilities, staff, equipment, and resources to develop a state-of-the-art mental health facility.

Amends the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Systems Act to require the Department of Public Health to ensure Roseland Community Hospital obtains the necessary resources to achieve Level I Trauma Center designation for treating shooting victims.

Adds new Section 2310-685 to establish the Department's obligation to support Roseland Community Hospital's mental health facility development.

Adds new subsection (c) to Section 3.90 of the EMS Systems Act requiring the Department to assist Roseland Community Hospital in obtaining Level I Trauma Center designation.
