IL HB2487

Amends the Illinois Seed Law to define "seed library" as a nonprofit, cooperative, or governmental organization that collects, donates, and distributes open-pollinated seeds to the public for non-commercial and educational purposes.

Exempts seed libraries from all licensing, testing, labeling, and other requirements under the Illinois Seed Law.

Establishes that seed libraries operate for the purposes of horticulture education, non-commercial gardening, biodiversity, and preservation of open-pollinated plant varieties.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
