IL HB2650

Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code by removing a provision requiring the Department of Healthcare and Family Services to establish benchmarks for hospitals to reduce potentially preventable readmissions, inpatient complications, and emergency room visits.

Eliminates the requirement for the Department to publish provider-specific readmission data 60 days before program implementation and adopt reimbursement policies to reduce hospital expenditures by a minimum of $40,000,000 by June 30, 2013.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
