• Amends multiple Illinois professional licensing acts to allow service members and veterans to satisfy educational and experience requirements by documenting substantially equivalent military training or experience.

• Applies service member/veteran credential recognition across 24+ professional licensing disciplines including medical, engineering, trades, security, and other regulated professions.

• Defines "service member" and "military service" by reference to the Service Member's Employment Tenure Act; defines "veteran" as anyone formerly serving in U.S. Armed Forces or National Guard of any state, D.C., or U.S. territory.

• Requires veterans and service members to still pass all necessary licensing examinations even when military experience substitutes for traditional education or apprenticeship requirements.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
