Removes peace officers, firefighters, emergency management workers, and emergency medical technicians from Section 12-2(b)(4) and creates a new separate category (b)(4.1) with identical protections for these workers.

Modifies the reference to air rifles in Section 12-2(c)(1) from "the Air Rifle Act" to "Section 24.8-0.1 of this Act".

Maintains criminal penalties with aggravated assault against peace officers, firefighters, emergency workers, and emergency medical technicians (new subsection 4.1) classified as a Class 4 felony.

Preserves existing aggravated assault offenses and penalties, including Class A misdemeanor charges for most cases and Class 3 felony charges for discharging firearms from motor vehicles.
