Municipalities may charge fees to non-residents for fire department services, not exceeding the reasonable cost of the service provided.

Fire department fees are capped at $250 per hour per vehicle and $70 per hour per firefighter responding to calls for assistance.

Additional charges may be assessed to reimburse for extraordinary expenses of materials used in rendering fire services.

No fees shall be charged for services where the total amount would be less than $50.

All revenue from assessed fees must be deposited into the municipality's general fund, and no fees may be charged that violate existing contracts with other entities including fire protection districts.
