IL HB3261

Creates the Lion Meat Act prohibiting the slaughter of lions and the possession, breeding, importing, or exporting of lions for purposes of slaughter.

Makes it unlawful for any person to possess, sell, buy, transport, deliver, or commercialize lion meat or any product containing or labeled as containing lion meat.

Prohibits restaurants, hotels, and other commercial establishments from serving lion meat as part of a meal.

Authorizes the Department of Agriculture to adopt and enforce rules necessary to implement the Act.

Establishes violations as Class A misdemeanors, with the Act taking effect immediately upon passage.
