Beginning with the 2017-2018 school year, each school board must establish kindergarten with full-day attendance instead of the option to offer half-day or full-day attendance.

Eliminates the requirement that school boards establish half-day kindergarten when offering full-day kindergarten.

Repeals Section 10-20.19a of the School Code on July 1, 2017, which previously allowed kindergartens to provide either half-day or full-day attendance.

Requires kindergarten teachers to hold a license as provided by law.

Act takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
