IL HB3511

Prohibits charter schools established on or after this act's effective date from entering into contracts with for-profit educational management organizations (EMOs) or charter management organizations (CMOs).

Requires all charter school authorizers to ensure that charter schools have governing bodies that are separate and distinct from the governing bodies of any CMO or EMO.

Mandates that authorizers review charter applications and renewal applications to ensure the proposed governance model contains no conflicts of interest.

Prohibits charter schools from employing staff members who are simultaneously employed by an EMO or CMO.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
