HB3582 Summary

• State Board of Education, in consultation with Department of Juvenile Justice and Department of Children and Family Services, must establish a statewide bullying hotline with toll-free telephone number and voicemail capabilities after working hours.

• Hotline will accept reports from students, parents, teachers, and other parties regarding violence on school property, school buses, or cyber-bullying over the Internet.

• State Board shall maintain an Internet website where reports can be submitted online in addition to the telephone hotline.

• State Board shall adopt rules to implement and manage the bullying hotline system.
