HB3627 Summary

• Amends the Pharmacy Practice Act to expand pharmacist vaccination authority to patients ages 10 and older (previously limited to ages 10-13 for specific vaccines only).

• Removes restriction limiting vaccinations for ages 10-13 to only Influenza and Tdap vaccines, allowing pharmacists to administer any vaccines pursuant to valid prescription or standing order.

• Requires pharmacists administering vaccinations to complete appropriate training on addressing contraindications and adverse reactions, with notification to patient's physician and proper record retention.

• Effective January 1, 2016.
