IL HB3882

Amends the Park District Code to define "municipality" as a city, village, or incorporated town in the context of park district consolidation petitions.

Allows a consolidated park district coterminous with a municipality to be organized when 2 or more park districts exist entirely within the same municipality, superseding the previously existing districts.

Requires consolidation petitions to be signed by at least 100 legal voters from each existing park district and either 100 voters or 10% of voters (whichever is less) from any unincorporated territory within the municipality.

Permits the proposed consolidated district to choose between 5 elected commissioners or 7 appointed commissioners, with appointed commissioners appointed by the municipality's chief executive officer with corporate authority approval.

Repeals subsection (b) regarding reorganization of park districts with municipalities under 500 population, effective until January 1, 1987.
