Students scoring 3 or higher on College Board Advanced Placement examinations are entitled to receive postsecondary level course credit at Illinois public universities if elective credit is part of their degree requirement.

Public universities must award course credit to students scoring 4 or higher on Advanced Placement examinations and apply that credit toward corresponding course requirements for degree completion in their chosen major.

The Board of Higher Education shall work with each public university to implement and communicate their policies for awarding advanced placement credits.

Amends the College and Career Success for All Students Act and the Board of Higher Education Act to establish these advanced placement credit standards.
