• Extends the sunset date for the Making Home Affordable Program provisions from January 1, 2016 to January 1, 2018 for mortgage foreclosure cases where the mortgagor did not apply for assistance by December 31, 2016.

• Allows mortgagors to request courts set aside foreclosure sales if they applied for assistance under the Making Home Affordable Program and the sale violated program requirements, with the motion made prior to sale confirmation.

• Requires confirmation orders in foreclosure sales to include the name, address, and telephone number of the certificate of sale holder or purchaser so municipalities and counties can contact them regarding the property.

• Mandates copies of foreclosure confirmation orders be sent to the relevant municipality or county and, for residential properties, to the last known property insurer.

• Provides that mortgagors occupying residential real estate need not post a bond to request setting aside a sale due to improper notice, unlike other parties seeking the same relief.
