HB4970 Summary

• Removes the requirement that the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation employ at least 4 pharmacy investigators and eliminates the position of deputy pharmacy coordinator from the Pharmacy Practice Act.

• Changes the chief pharmacy coordinator position from requiring "at least 2 deputy pharmacy coordinators" to requiring only one chief pharmacy coordinator who is a registered pharmacist.

• Modifies fingerprint vendor licensing requirements under the Private Detective, Private Alarm, Private Security, Fingerprint Vendor, and Locksmith Act of 2004 to apply equipment certification requirements to fingerprint vendor agencies rather than individual fingerprint vendors.

• Makes compliance with Department of State Police fingerprinting equipment and software specifications a continuing requirement for licensure of fingerprint vendor agencies.

• Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
