Drivers must report to the Secretary of State any medical condition likely to cause loss of consciousness, seizures, or loss of safe driving ability within 10 days of becoming aware of the condition.

The Secretary of State and Driver's License Medical Advisory Board shall determine by administrative rule which temporary conditions are exempt from the reporting requirement.

Adds seizures as an explicit example of physical disorders characterized by lapses of consciousness or control that constitute medical limitations for safe vehicle operation.

Makes it reckless driving if a person knowingly drives a vehicle within 3 months of experiencing a loss of consciousness or seizure that would interfere with safe operation, unless the condition is controlled by medical treatment or medication.

Act takes effect January 1, 2017.
