IL HB6560

Amends the Military Veterans Assistance Act to change composition of Veterans Assistance Commissions from one delegate and one alternate per post to multiple delegates and alternates from a majority of posts, camps, units, and chapters.

Requires all Veterans Assistance Commissions to publish annual notices beginning January 1, 2017, and every January 1 thereafter, calling on military veterans organizations to select delegates and alternates within 60 days.

Permits most posts, camps, units, chapters, ships, or detachments to select one delegate and one alternate, except military veterans organizations with 5 or more constituent groups in a county may select a single delegate and alternate to represent all groups.

Allows posts, camps, units, chapters, ships, or detachments serving multiple counties to select one delegate and one alternate for each county where at least 25% of its members reside.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
