State agencies are prohibited from entering into contracts with businesses that have federal contracts to build a wall along the Mexico-United States border, effective immediately upon passage.

The Illinois Investment Policy Board must identify companies contracting to build the border wall and include them on a restricted companies list distributed to retirement systems and the Illinois State Board of Investment by April 1, 2017.

Retirement systems must divest direct holdings in border wall contractor companies within 12 months of their appearance on the restricted list and cannot acquire new securities from these companies.

All provisions of this bill become inoperative on January 20, 2021, with the bill's restrictions and requirements automatically expiring on that date.
