School districts in Illinois implemented Common Core Learning Standards in 2010, replacing standards adopted in 1997, for English language arts and mathematics.

Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) will be administered for the first time in the 2014-2015 school year and is based on the 2010 learning standards.

PARCC assessment results are being used with increased emphasis to make decisions affecting students, educators, and school funding allocations.

Encourages school districts to not use PARCC test results as a determining factor for student educational opportunities, educator evaluations, and resource allocation during the 2014-2015 through 2017-2018 school years, citing the assessment as new and untested.

Directs copies of the resolution be delivered to all school districts in Illinois.
