Honors Marshal Enoch Hopkins, born March 22, 1824, who served as a law enforcer in Morris beginning in 1854 and was killed in the line of duty on September 14, 1878

Marshal Hopkins was shot and killed by Charles Miller during an arrest attempt after pursuing two intoxicated men who had become disorderly and refused multiple warnings to leave town

Requests the Illinois Department of Transportation erect plaques or signs at suitable locations identifying the road as the "Marshal Enoch T. Hopkins Memorial Road"

Directs copies of the resolution be presented to Marshal Hopkins' family, the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Morris Police Department, and the Mayor of Morris
