Calls on the U.S. Trade Representative to negotiate the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (T-TIP) with the European Union in a fair and transparent manner that positively impacts the U.S. trade balance.

Notes Illinois exported approximately $35.7 billion in goods (54% of state exports) under existing free trade agreements in 2013, with machinery, chemicals, and automotive products facing tariffs of 6.5% to 22% in European markets.

Emphasizes that any trade legislation must preserve health, safety, and environmental protections, address discriminatory practices, and allow state and local governments to legislate in the public interest.

Directs copies of the resolution be sent to the President, U.S. Trade Representative, and Senate leadership.
