Acknowledges Girl Scouts of the USA as the largest organization for girls in the world with a mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character.

Recognizes approximately 54,000 youth Girl Scouts in Illinois plus tens of thousands of adult volunteers who work to improve their local communities, state, and world.

Highlights Girl Scout activities in science, technology, engineering, math (STEM), financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and efforts to reduce bullying and promote healthy living.

Girl Scouts from across Illinois will gather at the State Capitol on May 15, 2015 to meet with state government leaders and learn about the governmental process and advocacy.
