Urges the United States Department of Energy to provide the $1 billion in federal funding it previously committed to the FutureGen Project in Illinois.

References the Clean Coal FutureGen for Illinois Act of 2011, which established support for a research project to capture and permanently sequester CO2 emissions from coal-fueled power plants using high-volatile bituminous coal or other approved captured CO2 sources.

Affirms that the FutureGen Project serves a substantial public purpose through advanced clean-coal electricity generation, emissions control, and carbon capture and storage technologies that would benefit Illinois citizens.

Asserts the project would create jobs during construction and operations phases, reinvigorate the Illinois Basin coal industry, and position Illinois as a global center for clean coal technology development.

Directs copies of the resolution to be sent to the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.
