Highlights Taiwan's economic significance as the world's 19th-largest economy and the 10th-largest U.S. trading partner, with bilateral trade worth US $67.4 billion as of 2014.

Notes Taiwan's importance as a major market for Illinois agricultural products, importing US $578.4 million in agricultural products and food manufactures from Illinois in 2014, representing 61.5% of Illinois's total exports to Taiwan.
