Illinois House of Representatives recognizes the 25th anniversary of the Illinois Brass Band, which was founded in 1991 by George Faster and William Homer.

Illinois Brass Band won 6 North American Brass Band Association championships by 2002 and became the first brass band outside the Commonwealth to attend the British Open Brass Band Championships in 2003.

Band has produced 6 recordings, with "Cookin' with Brass" being their first recording in over 10 years, recorded in May and early June 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Arlington Heights.

Illinois Brass Band is a 30-member British style brass band, 6-time national champion, and Section 501(c)(3) organization supported in part by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council.

June 11, 2016 is declared Illinois Brass Band Day in recognition of the band's 25-year anniversary.
