Designates the week of February 21-27, 2016 as Eating Disorders Awareness Week in Illinois with the theme "3 Minutes Can Save a Life" focusing on early detection and intervention.

Recognizes that 20 million women and 10 million men in the United States suffer from clinically significant eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder.

Notes that anorexia has the highest mortality rate of any mental illness and that fewer than one-third of youth with eating disorders receive treatment.

Emphasizes that prompt intensive treatment significantly improves recovery chances and calls for educators, medical providers, parents, and community members to recognize warning signs and symptoms.

Directs that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the National Eating Disorders Association.
