Designates May 11, 2016 as Alpha Kappa Alpha Day in the State of Illinois to honor the sorority and its work.

Recognizes Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated as the nation's oldest African-American sorority, founded in 1908 at Howard University and incorporated in 1913.

Acknowledges the sorority's mission to cultivate high scholastic and ethical standards, promote unity among women, and provide service to all mankind through programs focused on educational enrichment, health promotion, and civil rights.

Highlights notable members including Eleanor Roosevelt, Coretta Scott King, Rosa Parks, Maya Angelou, and current Illinois General Assembly members such as Senate Majority Whip Mattie Hunter and Representative Monique Davis.

Directs that copies of the resolution be provided to the sorority's leadership, including International President Dorothy Buckhanan Wilson and Central Regional Director Kathy Walker-Steele.
