Congratulates Mayor Jeff Pollard and citizens of Carmi on the 200th anniversary of their community, founded April 10, 1816, in a log cabin now known as the Robinson Stewart House.

Recognizes Carmi's agricultural heritage, with White County producing over $42.5 million in crops and $4.5 million in livestock annually across 234,900 acres of farmland operated by 448 farms.

Acknowledges White County's oil industry, which began in 1939 and has produced over a quarter million barrels of oil per year, making it one of the top three oil-producing counties in Illinois.

Notes the town's historical significance, including Abraham Lincoln's 1840 visit and preservation of historic structures such as the Ratcliff Inn, Robinson Stewart House, and L. Haas Store Museum.

Directs presentation of a suitable copy of the resolution to the Mayor of Carmi as a symbol of respect and esteem.
