Honors the soldiers of the 100th Illinois Volunteer Infantry Regiment, comprised almost entirely of soldiers from Will County and raised in Joliet, for their service during the Civil War.

Recognizes Colonel Frederick Bartleson as the regiment's commander, who lost an arm at the Battle of Shiloh, was captured at Chickamauga where the 100th lost 165 of 315 soldiers, and was killed by a sniper's bullet at Kennesaw Mountain, Georgia on June 23, 1864.

Acknowledges the restoration of the Regimental Colors of the 100th Illinois Volunteer Infantry Regiment in partnership with the Illinois State Military Museum, with dedication scheduled for June 30, 2016, spearheaded by Joliet Area Historical Museum Board President Robert E. Kuzma.

Thanks the Joliet Area Historical Museum for restoring and returning the Regimental Colors to Joliet and directs presentation of a suitable copy of the resolution to the museum.
