Expresses condolences of the Illinois House of Representatives for the death of John Henry Samuel Wallace on June 16, 2016.

Honors Wallace's service as a World War II Naval veteran and ordained elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Recognizes Wallace's educational career, including teaching at Malcolm X College as Dean and serving as Executive Director of the Institute for the Study of Educational Policy at Howard University.

Acknowledges Wallace's activism in the 1970s and 1980s against the use of Mark Twain's "Huckleberry Finn" in New Trier High School, including his appearance on Nightline and his rewrite of the novel replacing racial slurs with the word "slave."

Directs that a suitable copy of the resolution be presented to Wallace's family as an expression of sympathy.
