Illinois House honors the Summit Community Task Force Inc. for its work serving the Village of Summit community.

Summit Community Task Force was organized in 1992 by Wheeler and Marvel Parker to address illegal drug and gang activity, and to build a safer neighborhood with lifelong learning opportunities.

Organization constructed the $372,000 Emmitt Till Center (formerly Summit Community Task Force Community Service Center) completed in November 2001, funded by a $227,000 HUD-CDBG grant and community support.

Summit Community Task Force offers youth programs including Boy Scout and Cub Scout troops, family strengthening initiatives, drug and alcohol prevention, life skills training, and senior programs.

Resolution directs presentation of a suitable copy to Summit Community Task Force Inc. as a symbol of esteem and respect.
