Illinois House of Representatives mourns the death of Jeffrey A. Lovett, who passed away on July 10, 2016, surrounded by his family.

Lovett was born March 18, 1958, in Temple, Texas; graduated from Dixon High School in 1976; earned an Associate's Degree from Sauk Valley College and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Northern Illinois University.

Held progressive banking positions including loan officer at State Bank of Paw Paw (starting role), Assistant Vice-President at Dixon National Bank (1985), Senior Vice-President/Chief Lending Officer after AMCORE acquisition (1992), and President/Chief Operation Officer (1999-2010); became Regional Market President at Midland States Bank in 2010 overseeing seven branches.

Served as board member of Ashton village and President of Ashton Lions Club; involved with Dixon Lions Club, Dixon YMCA, Dixon Petunia Festival, Sinnissippi Centers, Ronald Reagan Boyhood Home Preservation Foundation, and Belted Galloway Association.

A lifelong history student with passion for Civil War and genealogy; survived by wife Lisa (married 1974), two daughters Heather and Sarah, and four grandchildren.
