Congratulates Augustina Gonzalez Brennan on becoming the first Latina promoted to the rank of Captain in the Chicago Police Department in January 2016.

Brennan joined the Chicago Police Department in February 1986 and served in various roles including Beat Officer, Sergeant (June 1999), and Lieutenant (September 2010) across multiple districts and specialized units.

Worked in the Bureau of Organized Crime Narcotics Division conducting federal and state wire intercept investigations, and oversaw the Asset Forfeiture Unit managing money and forfeiture seizures.

Holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Calumet College and a Master of Business Administration Degree from St. Xavier University (2003), and attended the Police Executive Research Forum's Senior Management Institute in Boston.

Currently assigned to the Bureau of Organizational Development as a Field Inspector and is certified as a Peer Support Team leader and Crisis Intervention Team officer.
