Congratulates Evan Jager, originally from Algonquin, on winning a silver medal in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games on August 17, 2016.

Jager won the steeplechase final with a time of 8:04.28, which ranks as the second-fastest time in Olympic history for the event.

The silver medal marks the first American medal in the steeplechase event since 1984 and the best American finish since 1952.

Jager is a 2007 graduate of Harry D. Jacobs High School in Algonquin and a five-time United States Champion in the 3000-meter steeplechase.

The Illinois House of Representatives will present a suitable copy of this resolution to Jager as a symbol of esteem, respect, and admiration.
