Recognizes the 90th anniversary of St. Cornelius Catholic Church, founded in 1925 in the Jefferson Park neighborhood on Chicago's northwest side by Cardinal George Mundelein with Monsignor Luke H. Lyons as founding pastor.

First Mass was celebrated in August 1926 in the church-school building; the school opened in December 1926.

Present-day church building construction began in 1964 under Monsignor John R. Gleason.

Beginning March 2016, St. Cornelius offered monthly ethnic Masses for Hispanic and Filipino communities; in June 2016 the parish joined with three other parishes to form Pope Francis Global Academy, which opened August 22, 2016.

Illinois House of Representatives expresses esteem and respect for the congregation and commits to present a suitable copy of the resolution to the church.
