Congratulates Dr. Dello D. Thedford on his 50th anniversary of music ministry in East St. Louis and the Metro East area as a Music Clinician and Minister of Music

Recognizes the Gospel Symphonic Choir founded by Dr. Thedford in 1996, which has celebrated 20 years of ministry, won "Best New Artist" from the Gospel Music Workshop of America, and performed nationally including at NFL Divisional Championship games and Martin Luther King celebrations

Acknowledges Dr. Thedford's extensive career including over 22 years as Minister of Music at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, roles at Southern Illinois University of East St. Louis, and service as Music Director for various organizations including the National Baptist Convention USA Inc.

Notes Dr. Thedford's receipt of the 2016 Co-Fine Arts and Electives Teacher of the Year Award and his current position as Department Head of Vocal Music and Performing Arts

Designates October 30, 2016 as Dr. Dello D. Thedford Day in the State of Illinois
